Has anyone tried out Reynolds Whiskey yet for this pattern? It has the potential for being a good substitute for the Felted Tweed? And it's a bit less expensive too.
I ordered Felted Tweed from Angle Yarns in the UK. They're having a sale so the price works out to about $6 per skein (L3.60 at current $2 to 1GBP exchange rate = $7.20, then subtract 17% VAT). Even with shipping, it's cheaper than Whiskey.
I don't think so - my mother and law and I were doing a KAL of celtic (neither finished) and she tried Reynold Whisky as a subsitute for Felted Tweed. She was unhappy and switched to Felted Tweed.

Sorry, that was Angel Yarns, not Angle.

I find the Whiskey much more scratchy then the FT
