Anyone else finding the sleeve instructions make for a much wider sleeve, especially at the cuff, than the pattern photo shows? I've had to redo mine 3 times to get a good fit. I just have one sleeve and the button band to go!
I thought the same thing, so I cast on fewer stitches and calculated my own increases so that my sleeve would end up with the number the pattern had when I was ready to attach them to the body. I also thought that the sleeves as written were a little short, so I added an inch or two to the length.
Interesting that you found them too short. I'm 5'9" and thought they were a little long! I'll just block them a bit shorter - which, of course, could be done to make them a bit longer. Dicksie
They seemed wide for me too. I fear the entire cardi will turn out that way. I wasn't about to go messing with the stitch count too much, since I knew the cables depended upon a particular number. And math's no friend of mine.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one. Mine was much too wide. I cast on for a smaller amount on the smaller needles and it seems like it will work. When I get to the stockinette portion I'll switch back to the larger needles and see how that goes. My body was spot on but the sleeve way too wide.
My sleeves are a bit wide as well! I *might* try using smaller needles and see how that goes. otherwise I'm going to do what melissa did and start with fewer stitches.

I didn't find it to be too wide - but yeah, it's not a tight fit. I like how it looks in the end.
